Booking information

We are currently taking bookings well into 2010. The golden rule is book early. We play a wide variety of gigs including weddings, corporate functions, birthday parties through to public events such as carnivals, owners club events, scooter rallys, motorcycle events and live music clubs. See our testimonials page.

We are the proud owners of a high quality 6kw 4 PRO RCF PA system which is modular enabling us to tailor the amount of PA to suit your event. The system is perfect for the small / medium or larger venue (up to 1000 capacity). Our PA is also excellent for Marquee events where more power is required. We use an external company for even larger or outdoor events.

As one of our recent corporate clients said

'It was a pleasure to work with a band with such a professional approach during the booking and pre event organization stages, having all our questions answered promptly helped immensely from everyone’s point of view. As for the performance itself I personally thought Blind Lemon were excellent from the first chord, proven by the fact that everyone was up dancing from the very first song and were still asking for more long after your scheduled finish time, any fears that I had with regard to trying to please 350 high profile guests soon melted with the sight of everyone having a great time.'

Charity policy

We're proud to say we've helped countless charities raise thousands of pounds over the last fifteen years and will continue to help local charities/causes wherever possible. We thought it would be helpful to post some info on our charity policy due to the high level of enquiries we're getting.

We do make a charge for charity gigs but at a reduced rate, please contact us for the price.

We have to limit the amount of charity gigs we do a year to give each event the best chance of achieving its full potential.

Please be aware that the administration/publicity is the responsibility of the organiser. We do not guarantee an audience, however we will help with ticket design, posters. Plus we will help raise awareness of the event on our website, email list and facebook.

Important information

Q. How do I book Blind Lemon?
A. Email us with your date, type of event and venue and we will advise you of availability and cost.

Q. What do I need to bear in mind when deciding on a venue?
A. Several important factors should be considered:Is the venue band friendly?

VERY IMPORTANT
The band require a miniumum space of 20ft x 10ft, optimum is 30ft x 15ft. Bear in mind there are six members and a lot of equipment. You also need to allow room in venue for a mixing desk and lighting desk. This is generally housed against one of the side walls. Any questions feel free to contact the band to discuss.

Q. Any other requirements?
A. We need a room for changing purposes. Please, not the toilets. (yes it has happened !!)

Q. How long do you play for?
A. Can be two short sets or one long set (overall approx 2hrs in total)

Q. Do I need a DJ?
A. Your choice but we can provide CD music through our high-quality PA in between sets

Q. Do you provide lights?
A. Yes, we have a high quality DMX lighting system incorporating LED spot lights, and Scanners. These are mounted on a large gantry and operated by our sound and lighting engineer. We also use sound-to-light moonflowers for the dance floor area and floor mounted, high powered par64 spot lights. When permitted we also use smoke machines. The amount of lighting can, of course, be scaled down for smaller events.

Q. We plan to hold a public event. Can you help us to promote it?
A. Yes, we can help by publicising your event on our website, Facebook group and emailing our subscribers.

Other things to bear in mind:

Don't plan to put the DJ in the same area as the band!

It takes 2 hours to set-up and sound check so allow sufficient time before the event starts

Power supply needs to be good and we require a minimum of 4 x 13amp supplies -
VERY IMPORTANT

If it's a marquee we ideally need a stage. If on grass, we require a tarpaulin or other suitable waterproof membrane on the floor. The whole area must be dry!
